We’ve all seen the coffee mugs that say “World’s Greatest Mom” or “World’s Greatest Dad”, but how do you define a great parent?

Someone who provides the basics for survival like food and shelter? Someone who provides little luxuries like gifts and vacations — or who makes sure their kids are eating vegetables everyday?

There is no one, clear definition of a great parent, but here’s what we do know: a parent who has a quality, connected relationship with their child has a huge and positive impact on their child’s life.

It’s not just parents who can make a difference. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, coaches, teachers or any adult who forms a healthy, supportive connection with youth are lifting them up and helping them reach their full potential.
